4.40 A new deal

Estevan had to make sure the new roulette table was working at the casino before he opened the doors. He had checked the last table when he saw Blair, “How is my new nephew?”

“Draco is fine. He just cries a lot at the moment.”

“How is Teddy doing?”

“She is coping better than me. Why was I called into this meeting?” Estevan looked at his brother and replied, “I felt your anxiety about us missing out as brothers so the business will be drawn up differently.” Blair was intrigued, “How will it be different?”

They both sat down waiting for William and Blake to turn up and Estevan replied, “I want us as partners, split 50/50.”

“What about the boys?”

“We will pay them a good wage as in management wage.” 

Just then Will walked in, “Congratulations, Uncle Blair. What did you name the baby?”

“We named him Draco.” Estevan suddenly was quiet and Blair turned to him and said in a sarcastic tone, “It’s not the only news in this family. Am I right?”

Estevan smiled, “Your right, I’m going to be a Dad again.” Blair grinned and said, “Honeymoon?” Will looked at his Dad and said, “Do you know what it will be?”

Estevan laughed, “You and your brother asked the same thing. I’m glad you are pleased though. Where is Blake anyway?”

Will looked concerned and replied, “I called at the apartment but there was no answer.” Estevan had gone from happy to angry, “He is supposed to be here for this meeting.”

Blair who couldn’t resist said, “If I had just moved in with my girlfriend I know exactly what I’d be doing.” Estevan shot Blair a stinking look but had to admit he was right. Estevan decided he could not wait any longer for Blake so decided to start the meeting without him.

“I called this meeting because a new contract has to be signed. William I know I promised a share in the business but you should be aware that the business did originally belong to your uncle.”

Will knew where this was going, “You want a partnership with Uncle Blair?” Estevan was about to say something when Blair intervened, “We are not cutting you out. Estevan is suggesting a partnership. You and Blake will get a mangers wage but you still have as much of the responsibility. 

He wants to make it fair for when my kids grow up and join the company.” Will started to laugh then stopped and stared at Blair and coldly said, “If Draco is you then the business could fall under again.”

This time Estevan spoke, “There is that risk but there are more of us to keep him under control.” 

Blair lost it, “Hang on, Draco is almost a month and you two are already condemning him.” Estevan looked at his brother and firmly stated, “I know you remember but when I first met you, you were a new vampire with anger and resentment. If Draco is you then we will be here to help. However if we are lucky he might follow his mother.”

Blair yelled, “Can we get back to business.” Estevan grinned, “I only said what you thought too.” Blair grunted as he looked at Will.

William thought for a moment and said, “Is there any plans to expand the business?”

Now calm, Blair asked, “What about a resort?” William looked shocked, “Who would want to come here for a holiday?”

“You say that because you live here but if we don’t do this then we could lose money. We all agreed to our wives to stay away from drugs,” Blair stated then Estevan added, “And I also have given the arcade away.” 

Blair was now furious, “Who the hell did you give it to?”

“I gave it to Matt and Hazel on condition they go to university. There is a new bar for us opening in Lucky Palms and Spencer will run that for us.” Blair wanted to kick off but he did like Matt and knew how Estevan felt so under a slight protest grunted, “Fine.”

Will saw his Dad pick up the phone and said, “Dad, Blake has switched his phone off.” Estevan became frustrated as he slammed the phone down, “I just tried Lexy but no answer.”

Blair coughed and Estevan instantly knew that cough, “You know where he is, don’t you?” Estevan grabbed Blair and pushed him into the wall, “What is my son up too?”

“Go ahead beat the crap out of me but I won’t tell. Little brother you said family is important so when he came to me last night, I helped my nephew out.”

“Is he in trouble?”

“No he isn’t but he did say he’d explain when he got back and sorry about missing the meeting.” 

Estevan let him go, “Doesn’t he trust me?”

“He trusts you but he knows you too well and he didn’t want things to get out of hand.”

“Why would things get out of hand? Where is that boy?”
