Lexy went
home to rest while Estevan went in search for Blair. She had only been home
five minutes when there was a knock at the door.
When she opened it she saw Blake standing before her getting soaked by the rain. She invited him in knowing it wasn't going to be a pleasant meeting. When she closed the door she kept her back against the wall and waited for the outburst.
When she opened it she saw Blake standing before her getting soaked by the rain. She invited him in knowing it wasn't going to be a pleasant meeting. When she closed the door she kept her back against the wall and waited for the outburst.
Blake stared
at her for a moment then and in an angry tone asked, "I want to hear it
from you and only you." Lexy started to move across the room but Blake
followed her and continued, "What is your name? Did you arrest my Dad for
the murder of Sam?"
She sat on the couch putting her head in her hands and replied, "My name is Lexy Sail and yes I arrested Estevan." Blake now yelled, "You set me up. That night you spent with me was so you could dig information on me and to think I trusted a stranger with my heart and soul."
Lexy pleaded with Blake to hear her out, "It wasn't like that. Even before I knew you. I defended you to my boss and when we did meet...I just knew you didn't kill her. My boss insisted I arrest your Dad and I know he is not to blame. Estevan told me Samantha was having an affair. Do you know with who?"
Blake could see Lexy was trying to back away so he grabbed her arm and held her close to him while he asked firmly, "I don't know but why would you care about my family and me?"
"Your
Dad saved my life when I was a child."
"And
answer the question, why me?" Still keeping a firm grip.
Lexy looked
him in the eye not breaking the eye contact and replied, "I'm falling for
you. So either kiss me or let go of me."
Blake let go of Lexy and in shock replied, "Shit, shit, shit. You are beautiful but I'm sorry, I just can't not now, not ever." He went to leave but Lexy blocked the entrance. "If I'm beautiful as you say and you are in the clear, what is stopping you from seeing me?"
"You
arrested my Dad for one."
"And
you are holding back. I can sense you are torn, part of you wants to run but
the other half which you never share with anyone but I can see it. You want me
I can feel it."
She stepped closer but Blake kept backing away but she followed his moves until he trapped himself, "You want to love someone and that someone to return that love. You want that connection like you have never felt before."

Blake
managed to free himself and replied, "I just can't...I mean what happened
if you cheated or a man came on too you? The jealousy I felt, I can't go
through that again."
Lexy looked at him, "What if you cheated on me? These are all what ifs. I get jealous too. In case you hadn't noticed I may be a cop but I'm a woman first. If you were my boyfriend and a woman came onto you I'd want to kill her but I wouldn't because I would trust you would do the right thing."
"You
are making sense but still nothing can happen between us." This time Lexy
didn't stop him from leaving.
It was still
raining as Blake made his way through the streets. His mind was still reeling
from the fact that Sam was still alive when he left her. Now having to admit to
his Dad he didn't know everything and he did need to learn mind control and to
hunt properly, all he could see was his Dad saying I told you so but it would
be what he'd deserve.
"Well,
look who it is, Blake Granger the vampire who killed his girlfriend."
Blake spun around to see who it was but there was no-one there. It wasn't
Samantha taunting him but someone else.
A pain gripped Blake and he was on the floor trying to get back up. Suddenly he could feel Lexy's emotions and he couldn't work out why. Blake wasn't sure if she had done something to him. He called for help and hoped this time someone would hear, 'Dad, Will help. I think Lexy is in trouble, quickly please.' Then he collapsed where he was and everything went blank.

Blake could
hear voices talking around him as he was stirring. "He's waking up."
When Blake came around he saw his Dad looking at him. "How are you
now?"
Blake sat up and asked, "How is Lexy?" Estevan smiled and said asked her yourself, this is her house. "You were in trouble, I sensed it."
"I'm
fine, I just felt uneasy when I met Samantha's lover. He approached me when I
came outside but as a human reading his mind was easy. You must have sensed us
talking and how I felt." Estevan then voiced, "I will handle it so go
home."
Lexy yelled,
"No it won't get sorted your way but the law's way. William take your
brother home and help him with his mind control and controlling his feed. And
as for you Estevan don't make me regret sticking up for you so don't do
anything about this."
William took
her advice and took Blake home. Once outside Blake asked, "Will, why could
I feel her emotions?"
"I
think because you like her as much as she likes you, accept you are in
denial."
"I get jealous too easy. I can't put her through that." William stopped and looked at his brother and replied, "I will help you learn mind control and how to control your emotions when it's time to feed. I told you to listen to Dad..." Blake cut him off, "Yeah, you are the perfect one and I'm the bad son."
Will yelled
back, "I'm not perfect, you are the one who stood up to Dad. I followed
him into the business while you followed your dream job. Yes you ignored the
fundamentals of being a vampire but I'm sure you're not the first and won't be
the last. You and Art can learn together."
"Oh
great getting taught with my nephew. I suppose it could have been worse."
William
retaliated back with, "It could have been worse, Dad could have made you
learn with Uncle Blair." The look Will got from Blake was priceless as
they continued their way home.
The graveyard
Estevan had taken a different route which took him to the graveyard. As he thought he saw Blair staring at their father's grave. When he approached Blair he waited for a moment to see if there was any reaction but he didn't say anything. Estevan then asked, "Do you want to talk?"
Blair was in a state which was unlike anything that Estevan had ever seen before, "Do you know we met when you were a baby?"
"Teddy
told me about what you said. She is really upset saying she can't feel your
emotions, have you left her?"
Suddenly
Estevan saw the Blair he knew, "Leave my wife are you crazy, no. I cut my
emotional link because I am hunting."
Estevan slammed him into the tree and firmly replied, "We will get this guy but you and Teddy will suffer if you don't reconnect. I don't want that on my conscious."
Estevan slammed him into the tree and firmly replied, "We will get this guy but you and Teddy will suffer if you don't reconnect. I don't want that on my conscious."
Blair pulled away, "We both know you can't do anything but I can. This guy will hurt our family including my wife and child, instinct tells me that."
"I've
told Teddy to stay with me until you come home but what do I tell her?"
Blair's
heart was crumbling to see her sad and weak.
"I love you gorgeous but the link has to stay broken because of what I have to do. You can't know what I'm doing."
She ran into his arms and he held her tightly as they fell to the floor.
"I love you gorgeous but the link has to stay broken because of what I have to do. You can't know what I'm doing."
Estevan sat
watching the conversation between them.
"Blair I can't be on my own. You need to be home, please."
"Blair I can't be on my own. You need to be home, please."
"Teddy
you must go." as he unwrapped her arms from him. Estevan came over and
said to Teddy, "I'll see no harm comes to him. Do as he says and go back
to mine, ok."
Teddy reluctantly
agreed but they both heard the cries as she left the graveyard. "Just make
sure she survives this, while I'm gone."
Estevan
nodded in agreement as they approached their Dad's grave. "Are you sure
you want to do this?" Estevan asked.
"I want
to ring his bloody neck for all the lies. He saw how we were together when we
met and still he lied and then asked me to leave. What kind of father does
that?" Estevan couldn't argue with Blair.
"Sorry
but you are not going anywhere as you have a lot of explaining to do."
Slamming him onto the stone bench and with Estevan the other side David knew his time was up. Finally he acknowledged Estevan, "Hay Estevan, how are you?"

"Like you even give a shit. You abandoned me as a toddler but continued seeing Mum." David was about to answer when Blair cut in, "When I met Estevan for the first time you introduced him as Daphne's son, where in any of that did you mention he was my brother or that he was your son?"
David looked taken aback and replied, "Blair I was hoping you didn't remember that. It was just your Mum knew about the affair and Estevan and forbid me to tell you. Estevan as for you I am truly sorry. I should have been a better man and been there when you needed me. You being a vampire from birth, I saw changes in you so quickly that Blair never had because he was human so it seemed you would never need me."
"I would have needed you growing up even if though I was a vampire. That is the worst excuse I've ever heard." Then Blair had his say, "Mum forbid you to tell me about my brother, since when did you ever listen to her? Any other siblings we should know about?"
David quietly said, "It's just you and Estevan." Blair was about to
say more when they heard someone talking to Samantha's grave. So they hid so
they wouldn't be seen.
"It's all going to plan. Blake thinks he killed you and his father's just been arrested helping him clean up. This has gone better than planned. Pity William couldn't be stitched up with something but you actually thought I loved you. Sam dear, you were just easy and a good lay. Never mind two out of three isn't a bad result."

Estevan
wanted to attack him there and then but Blair said, "Just wait, tell Lexy
that cop friend of yours, if she doesn't get him I will."
