3.9 The over night wedding

Doctor lane examined Teddy insisting Blair wait outside. He heard them talking and then the Doctor appeared. "Mr Merrick can I have a word? Miss Green is fine a little tired but she is now resting."

"And the baby? What about the baby?" panic was now in Blair's voice.

"The baby is fine. Teddy's blood pressure was low which is good for the baby just not for her."

"What can I do?"

"Make sure she rests because she is not resting and she is taking on too much which is causing the dizziness. When you are pregnant it is hard to tell one symptom from another. So this was why she was ignoring the signs because she thought it was nothing to worry about."

"We were due to go away can she go?"

"I'd rather she didn't."

"Doctor Lane, please we are due to get married!" no sooner had the words left his lips when he heard Teddy say, "That's what this trip was about getting married?"

"It was supposed to be a surprise but the doctor says no."

"Please can I go?" Teddy was now pleading with the doctor.

"Fine you can go but until you are out of the woods, you will be unable to consummate the marriage."

Before Teddy could say anything Blair replied, "Seriously? You have to be kidding me!"

Doctor Lane just looked at him then Teddy added, "It will be hard but we will both behave, won't we Blair? Raising her voice slightly.

When the doctor had gone Blair held her and said, "Don't scare me like that again. Teddy wrapped her arms around him and said, "I'll try not to. Blair I haven't got a dress."

"You can get one while we are in France."

The club was coming on nicely. Dawn had taken down the wall at Estevan's request and put in the DJ booth in. Dawn had just put the sofa together in fact the basement part was now finshed. Then she saw Estevan walk over to her.

"What is it now?" and when she saw in was in a suit she added, "It's nice to see you are taking our relationship seriously."

"You look very...um sexy today."

"What are you trying to do?"

"Give a compliment to a beautiful woman. I was thinking about you this morning so I thought I'd stop by. Things are looking good here. In fact you have done a good job."

"Thank you. I will get started upstairs later and it then should be finished in two weeks." ignoring his comments about her. 

Estevan was about to leave but Dawn was getting to him so from behind without warning he put his arms around her. In a low whispering voice said, "I know you say there is no chance for a date but I can feel the heat between us and I know you can. So I'm letting you know I'm not giving up." Before Dawn had a chance to respond he left the basement. A few minutes had passed and Dawn was still in shock. No man had ever done that to her because if a guy tried anything like that Dawn would have normally slapped the guy. Estevan was now getting to her and she didn't like it.

Teddy had picked her dress got back to the car and for the millionth time Blair had asked, "Are you ok?"

"I won't be if you keep asking me."

"I'm sorry, it's just you and our baby mean everything."

"I know we do. I'm sorry for being snappy lately."

"It's ok." 

Teddy was in shock at the place Blair hired and when they got inside Teddy was speechless. Teddy was getting married in less than 20 minutes and had to get changed quickly. As she got ready she wished her parents were still alive to share this day but she knew if they were here then they would have been happy for her. 

When Blair walked all suited up the urge to have her there and then was getting to him. He backed her against the wall and said very tenderly, "You know we could just pretend we are married and I could help you out of that dress."

"I can tell you want me but remember what the doctor said." Blair reluctantly backed off and held out his hand and asked, "May I escort you downstairs?" Teddy took his hand with a smile. Blair then added, "You look stunning by the way."

When they entered the room it was a beautiful sitting room with an open fireplace. They took their places in front of the fire and recited their vows. 

Blair wasn't one for long speeches so his was short, "Because of you, I laugh, I smile, I dare to dream again.

I look forward with great joy to spending the rest of my

Life with you, caring for you, nurturing you, being there for you in all life

Has for us, and I vow to be true and faithful for as long as we both shall live." as he placed the ring on her finger.

Teddy then recited her vows which were the same as Blair's but summoned up who they were and who they are now, " Because of you, I laugh, I smile, I dare to dream again.

I look forward with great joy to spending the rest of my

Life with you, caring for you, nurturing you, being there for you in all life

Has for us, and I vow to be true and faithful for as long

As we both shall live."

After the vows Teddy couldn't believe she was now married and just kept staring at the ring.
